The UKFR Forum Member Map has made a welcome return :)

    http://www.fireworks-forum.org.uk/showmap.php

It's a very handy way to see if there's another pyromaniac living near you, either so you can board your letterbox up or send them an invite to your next display ;) Just click on a pointer to see the username and click on that to see their profile.

If you want to add yourself to the map it's easy. Go up to your Personal Details tab on the top right (in the drop down menu under your logged in username) and fill in your latitude and longitude. If you don't know these use the links provided to third party mapping sites. You must enter the lat/long in the right boxes and they must be numbers with no letters. Examples:

    50.78531874419252 (for latitude)
    -1.6088104248046875 (for longitude)

    or

    52.635871 (for latitude)
    1.342207 (for longitude)

As these can be very precise I recommend for privacy reasons you pick somewhere near but not exactly right on you, unless of course you are a retailer and want to mark your shop.

The reason lat/long is asked for rather than just a location name or postcode is because it significantly speeds up the map rendering with several hundred users. Without that, the map would be slowed down while Google Maps translates each location. In effect you are doing the hard work first by finding out your coordinates.

The old member map showed different pointers depending on the usergroup. I'm working on doing the same on this map but it will require some new code, so bear with me.
    irvimic and dogsbody like this.

We are up to 195 members listed on the map now. Can we reach 200? If you're not already on the member map then pop into your account settings and add your long/lat as shown above :)
