Sainsburys.

  1. I went into my local Sainsburys this morning and there was no sign of any fireworks,no cabinets out or leaflets in store,by now they are usually put out ready to start selling tomorrow so i don't know if they are leaving it late this year or have given up selling altogether, has anyone else seen any in their local branches?

Same in my town, nothing in Sainsburys and the only news paper shop that would normally sell a bit of black cat / standard is closing down! The town is doomed!

  3. Sainsburys always leave it late, never seen more than a promotional sign in store before the 15th

The big Sainsbury's at Purley Way, Croydon have had their cabinets out for a week or so with a few Halloween bits in and a sign on top saying 'fireworks on sale October 15th' so they are definetly selling them.
    Maybe just in larger stores?

  6. Think with it being on the sat (the 15th) probably ask the cabinets be put up on friday night ready for sat morning opening.

Sounds like you should set up a pop up shop and take your chances!

It did pop in my head as we are opening a specialist gift shop, but the misses won't let me :(

Sounds like you're already in an ideal position then?! Maybe not this year, as it's too close to the big day to sort suppliers, license, etc - and if you are in the process of opening your 'specialist gift shop' - (what is it by the way? I'm curious - specialist gifts sounds like a polite way of saying adult toys....) But surely if your new shop takes off, it's got to be worth making a space in the shop and trying it next year? She won't be poo-pooing the idea when she's emptying the till!! :D

lol it does a bit but no :) after losing my job, we are going back into doing bath bombs , hand crafted soaps, aromatherapy products and "specialist" giftware, which we have secured to be the only specialised in fantasy and gothic giftware locally anyway. things like fairy's, skulls dream catchers etc etc

that was the pack!!!! pyro pack, there was more pyro in the sparklers than there was in the fountains:D

  15. I've been instructed to go for fountains this year, thinking two Frankensteins and a trickster with the free pyro set may be a good ish deal for £20. Any thoughts on those fireworks.

  16. Unfortunately, Trickster is pants, it's 90% air inside with only 3 small tubes. Frankenstein is a decent fountain though :)

Hope you enjoy it. According to the lady on the counter at Sainsbury's I was the first person to buy something this year. Just a couple of tiny selection boxes to put me in the seasonal sprit and all that. Don't want to disturb the neighbours too soon this year ;)

Well I wasn't expecting a bit of crackling, just a huge shame about the duration on it, still a pyro fix is a pyro fix :)
