How so, I thought the max bore for Category F3 was 30mm?

Have you ever wondered why there are no 50mm cakes available in the UK under cat 3?
It's because UK regs don't allow them despite anything CE says!

Like I said in the other thread there are loads of lovely items classed as F3 under CE that are not allowed for sale in the UK. Bangers, 50mm cakes, helicopters, reloadable shells etc

If as you say 50mm cakes are fine then you may as well start importing F3 shells for your customers!

I’m confused. (It doesn’t take much)
I’m not knocking it though, if you’ve got 50mm bore cakes available I’ll be visiting soon! :D

  10. They will be on the website soon.

Likewise I'd love to fire some 50mm cakes!

@Ghengis Fireworks just to confirm, is EVERY tube in this cake 50mm or just the finale shot that contains several bombettes?

Because IF the tubes are all 30mm and the final volley consists of 50mm 'mines' (several bombettes fired at the same time from each finale tube) then they're all legal and good. :)

I hadn’t realised there was another thread discussing this. I have now read it and am up to date! :)

I'm not an importer or manufacturer but I thought 30mm was the maximum tube size for a shot in the UK.

The Pyrotechnic Article Regs section 33 doesn't allow a shot tube over 30mm and although I remember somewhere it's stated that a 50mm mine is allowed I can't find where. One such mine cake I think has 3 x 20mm bombettes per tube. This is probably in BS EN 15947-2015 but I can't find a copy anywhere without paying £100 for a download of it

  19. As far as i know 30mm is the maximum tube size allowed in a cake for sale to the general public as i have asked before about buying these and was told they can't be imported for general use, only for display companies unless things have changed but i don't think they have.
