Cake/Barrage Atomic Bomb

Discussion in 'Ghengis Fireworks' started by Ghengis Fireworks, Aug 17, 2018.

  1. So just to be clear there is 25 shots in the cake, each shot is one single 50mm shot ? Basically a 2" shell

  2. According to the LOCEF database...

    ATOMIC BOMB

    Manufacturer:
    LIUYANG GANGHUA EXPORT FIREWORKS FACTORY
    Importer: GHENGIS FIREWORKS LIMITED
    Packaging Mark: 4G/Y30/S/**/CN/4300 128 PI:530

    Type:
    BATTERY SHELL IN MORTAR
    Size: 48 mm

    So not 50mm, just 48mm :p

I mean kudos if this is legit, but having not seen anything like this (a shell cake?) get through to UK retail in recent times I'm sure you can appreciate the hesitation and interest!

I can't say it really looks like a 2" shell cake in the video, and I let off a fair few of them...

I would relish availability of cat 3 cakes with 50 bombette tubes. 30mm are fine to a point, but 50mm would add a whole new dimension to cat 3 displays.

However, there has to be an error of thought here somewhere. 50mm shot tubes are simply not allowed in the UK. (unless of course the tubes are 50mm O/D with 10mm walls......)

    I hope I'm wrong.

Hats off to you @Ghengis Fireworks if you have managed to get these in, surely the safety distance would have to be quite substantial in the interest of public safety

  6. Easy fix to give us all confidence to place orders ... please take a photo and post with the top foil removed, showing the tubes. Only 50mm tube cake, I was aware of was Absolute's 16 shot Manic Miner, but each tube has three separate bursts with mine effect.

Genghis did have 2 x 50mm mine cakes last year much like manic miner, shockwave and the beast.

However by the videos of these ones they look like single bursts

  8. I agree it doesn't look like a shell cake but that's what it's classified as on the HSE website, hence why I said 'shell cake?' :)

I guess we will all find out once it arrives and someone tests one.

The bursts do look very big with thick high quality effects

  15. My assumption is that this has to be legal, through some sort of loophole in the regulations or through some very careful design and phrasing. Else I doubt @Ghengis Fireworks woukd want to post about them all over a public forum ;) does look very impressive though, there’s no way I’d want to fire it at anything less than 50m though!

There seem to be a few other 50mm cakes as well, such as Napalm Bomb and Nuclear Bomb...

  18. I need to get an order placed!

  19. I really don't want to be Mr dome or gloom but come on anyone who thinks having something like this in a consumer environment is not really thinking of the industry. 25 meters safety distance for basically 25 x 2" shells  ...... someone is taking the piss

I think these will become a default F4 if these are for real.

I have to agree with you on this one I am sat here thinking if they are as stated they have no place on general sale to the public.
