  1. Did I just witness a sale for over £800 on eBay.
    Wow!

I put a bid on myself, but topped out at £250.

Incredible what this old pyro fetches...I need to search a bit more closely!

  9. Not even that rare, had a few over the years, ridiculous price. The larger Wizard, Excelsior and Britannia boxes are much harder to find. And try finding a 1970s Rainbow box...

It's what happens when 2 bidders decide they want an item and leave huge covering snipe bids in order to make sure they get the item.
I very much doubt either of them expected to get beaten or that they would end up having to pay that much.
Even on a good day that box in that condition should have been somewhere between £100 - £150.
Obviously anything is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and in this case that would appear to be £887.

Or at least why it went for so much.
Bet the next one doesn't fetch anywhere near that amount..

It's not even a brand I'm familiar with. I just wondered if there was something more unique about it.

Brocks used the Wilders name into the mid 70's, although labelled Wilders most fireworks will have Brocks on the label in small writing somewhere
    these are from that period

had it been full it would heve been well worth that money, early Wilders gear with Birmingham address on it is very hard to find....... considering their factory was about 40 min drive from here it hardly ever turns up in the midland area.
